Labuan Bajo Marine Project to be Completed August Next Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Labuan Bajo Marina project in East Nusa Tenggara is expected to be completed in August next year. The modern, integrated port is being developed by three SOEs in a consortium called Indonesia Ferry Property.


West Manggarai Regent Agustinus Ch. Dula said that Labuan Bajo Marina comprises of modern port, restaurant, and hotels.

Agustinus explained that the construction of Labuan Bajo Marina port is a step forward to boost tourism in the most western part of the Flores Island. He said that the administration will rely on tourism to drive the local economy.


Indonesia Ferry Property comprise of three state-owned enterprises, namely PT PP, Patra Jasa, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry. The latter is the majority owner of Labuan Bajo Marina project with 51 percent stake.


As reported by Bisnis.com, ASDP has disbursed Rp250 billion to develop the crossing facility in a bid to improve Labuan Bajo tourism. The project includes construction of marine facilities, hotel, and commercial areas. It will have a capacity to accommodate 40 yachts.
