Only 60% of South East Sulawesi Puskesmas Have Doctors

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Head South East Sulawesi Health Agency Asrum Tombili said that around 40% of 280 community health centers (puskesmas) in the province do not have doctors.
“Only around 60 percent of the community health centers in the province have doctors, while the remaining only have non-doctor medical workers and nurses,” Asrum said on Friday.
However, despite this fact, Asrum said that agency would continue improving health service for the people in the province.
He added that the community health centers are health centers owned by the government and directly serve the people.
“As the forefront of health services, community health centers must be strengthen by improving human resources and facilities as well as medicines,” he added.
