TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential spokesman Johan Budi has confirmed that the palace has received the copy of the Fact Finding Team's (TPF) document of human rights activist Munir Said Thalib’s death.
According to Johan, the document was sent by former cabinet secretary minister Sudi Silalahi on Wednesday afternoon. “The copy of the document has been received,” Johan said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, October 27, 2016.
Johan said that the document had been received by the State Secretary Ministry and will be handed over to the Attorney General.
He explained that the copy is similar to the original one. The document bears the signature of Munir TPF chairman Brig. Gen. Marsudi Hanafi. “It matches the original one,” he said.
Johan declined to elaborate further on the plans once the Attorney General received the document. He said that the Attorney General will first examine the document.
The President’s Staff head Teten Masduki earlier confirmed that the government will resolve Munir’s murder case. According to him, the missing document on Munir’s death will not hinder resolution of the case.
Teten said that no deadline has been set to resolve Munir’s murder case.
