Governor Candidates` SocMed Accounts Have to be Registered: KPU

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Election Commission (KPU) of the Jakarta chapter obliges all social media accounts used for the campaign of the Jakarta governor and deputy governor candidates to be registered no later than October 27.
The accounts are those authorized to use by the pairs campaign to publish their visions, missions, and programs.
However, the Commission does not limit the number of social media accounts that the pair may have.
"There are no restrictions on the number of accounts (social media). To be clear, all accounts must be officially listed," said Dahlia Umar, an official of the Commission in Jakarta on Saturday (1/10).
Once registered, the Commission will announce accounts used by the pairs.
This move, Dahlia added, is an anticipation of the many unofficial account of the candidates who bring negative issues. With those official accounts registered, campaign contents can be accounted for by the pairs.
