TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Garuda Indonesia is assessing the possibility to open Balikpapan-Mamuju flight. The route is meant to increase the number of visits to the oil-producer city.
"Mamuju District Head has asked us to open a flight to the city. As for Balikpapan, we have not heard any requests from the city," said General Manager of Garuda Indonesia Balikpapan, Joseph A. Saul on Thursday, September 22, 2016.
He said that Garuda is currently assessing the potentials. He said that fit and proper test from all aspects is needed.
Joseph added that the potential passengers are not too big in Balikpapan-Mamuju route. If it is realized, Garuda will operate ATR Boeing with 70 seaters, which will fit with Mamuju's runway.
