TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta governor candidate Sandiaga Uno said that the six political parties in the coalition that supports him have agreed to propose no other candidate. It leaves Sandiaga to face the incumbent candidate, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok.
"There is no new axis in Cikeas (Democrat Party). We have agreed that the two candidates have represented what the people of Jakarta want," he said Thursday, September 22, 2016.
As for the notion that he will step in with the former education minister, Anies Baswedan, he said the discussion is still in motion and some names are currently being considered.
"We are discussing and exploring all possibilities. We want to make cover all aspirations," said Sandiaga.
Some other names being considered are Democrat ace Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and top lawyer Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
