Anticipating Zika, Mayor Risma Gathers District,Subdistrict Heads

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Surabaya Mayor, Tri Rismaharini, has gathered all district and subdistrict heads of Surabaya on Tuesday , suggesting them to anticipate Zika Virus. "Especially for those returning from abroad," said Risma.
Risma has asked them to note everyone returning from travelling abroad. She also asked citizens to visit the closest Public Health Center to check if they are infected or not."Please go to Puskesmas (health center), if you experience Zika symptoms,” she said.
Risma added that Hajj season is prone for Zika outbreak. Although the airport has set up thermal scanner to detect the virus, the city does not want to take a risk. "We will give immediate medical attention to anyone suffering high fever," she said.
