TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia`s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has finally revealed the reason of the recent budget cut.
"I take this responsibility seriously. I do not want to put the credibility of the government, DPR, and myself at stake. This is not an easy decision," said Sri Mulyani.
Sri said that the government will do its best in improving state revenue. But she said that the government needs to be realistic in projecting taxes, given that the fiscal year has reached August. "It is an unpleasant situation for budget people," she said.
Despite the fact that Revised State Budget target has been revised, Sri said that Tax Directorate General will not be eased on duty. They will have to proceed with optimizing tax amnesty.
"I know it is not easy [...] but we can manage our economy and state revenue," she said.
