TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo has said that the management of sports should be focused on medal-potential branches. "We need to focus on branches that can secure us medals," said Jokowi.

Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi said that the extensive priority on those sports branches should be done immediately. "I have tried accelerating the process," he said.

The sports branches in particular are weighlifting, archery, and badminton.

Imam said that the extensive training can begin in Cibubur, because the Olympic Center and National Training Center can help facilitate it. "We will prepare everything from residence to other supporting facilities," he said. "But it takes massive budget."

Therefore, the ministry has proposed sports funding institute, which will collect and pool CSR fund for sports interest. "President Jokowi has approved it," he said.
