TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mataharimall.com had recorded a 425 percent revenue hike during Ramadan. “The value from sales in June reached hundreds of billions [of rupiah],” said Mataharimall.com CEO Hadi Wenas on Thursday, July 28, 2016.

The biggest revenue generated was not from sales in Jakarta. “Batu Municipality in East Java topped the table,” Hadi said. During Ramadan, mataharimall.com also saw a sevenfold increase in web traffic.

According to Wenas, online shopping has not only become more popular in metropolitan areas, but also all across Indonesia. “We saw orders surge up to 1241 percent from outside of metropolitan areas,” he said. “It proved that online shopping trend has not only hit big cities such as Jakarta.”

Upon the achievement, Mataharimall.com will launch its latest online shopping program on August 3. “We will introduce the shop and win program, it’s a customer loyalty program from Mataharimall,” Hadi said.
