TEMPO.CO, Hiroshima - Pokemon GO players rushed towards Hiroshima Peace Monument, and officials from the western city of Japan are not too fond of it.

They have asked game developer Niantic Inc to erase Pokestops in other virtual places appearing there in the augmented reality game.

Officials demand those locations to be removed from the game by August 6, which is the commemoration of the 1945 bombing and annual ceremony to commemorate the victims.

Niantic refuses to comment by not revealing their discussion to a third party.

Hiroshima Peace Monument Park is created to commemorate the victims of the Hiroshima bombing in 1945. The place is now crawling with Pokemon GO players since Japan launched the game last Friday.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC, and Arlington National Cemetery also made silimar demand to Niantic.

Holocaust Museum spokesman Andrew Hollinger said Wednesday, Jul 27, that the museum has been wiped from the game as requested.

Niantic provides a form for exceptional places, but not automatically or includes a warranty.

Pokemon GO players are entitled to receive digital rewards if they manage to visit locations in the real world that are designed as Pokestops and Gyms in the game, according to Japan Today.
