President`s First Order to Nine New Ministers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nine new ministers of the Working Cabinet (Kabinet Kerja) have attended first cabinet meeting on Wednesday (27/7). The cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was held after the official inauguration of the nine new ministers and four old officials who swapped positions.


When opening the meeting, President Jokowi ordered all ministers and heads of agencies to cooperate in a solid team. He also reminded his aides to only adhere to one voice and support the policy of the president and vice president.


"There is no vision-mission of the minister, but vision and mission of the president and vice president. All must be based on the vision and mission," President Jokowi said.


Jokowi does not want a minister who works overstepping the president by issuing a policy without discussed in a closed-door meeting. The President stressed that all policies should be decided in a meeting of at closed-door meeting or cabinet meeting.


"Do not issue the ministerial regulations or circulars," he said.


Jokowi also emphasized on strategic issues in the economy such as tax amnesty, food security and development. The president asked ministers to work immediately and answer the expectations of the people.
