Cabinet Reshuffle: I Have Done My Best, Rizal Ramli Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli did not deny the reports that he was in the shortlist of ministers in the Working Cabinet (Kabinet Kerja) whom President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo would replace.


“I have tried my best, for the country and Indonesian people. Thank you Indonesian people,” Rizal told Tempo via short message service,Wednesday, July 27, 2016.


Rizal didn’t say much and declined to make further comment about the reports of cabinet reshuffle. Reports said that Rizal will be replaced by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.


President Jokowi would announce the cabinet reshuffle today, reports said. A number of ministers would reportedly be rotated and reshuffled.


The cabinet reshuffle rumor had been circulating since yesterday. Reports said that the Finance Minister Bambang S. Brodjonegoro would be replaced with Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi would be replaced with Asman Abnur from the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Siad would be replaced with Chandra Tahar.
