Jokowi Promises to Cut KUR Interest Rate to 7 Percent

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has promised to lower interest rate of people’s business credit (KUR) to seven percent next year.
“The interest rate of KUR used to be 21-22 percent, it’s now 9 percent, I will try to [lower] the interest rate of KUR to seven percent,” President Jokowi, during his opening speech in the celebration of the 69th National Cooperatives Day, Thursday, July 21, 2016.
KUR disbursement from January 4 to July 15, 2016, reached Rp55.69 trillion, to over 2.5 debtors.
The government aims to disbursed up to Rp100 trillion under KUR program until the end of the year to more debtors.
