TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Member of House of Representatives Energy (DPR-RI) for Energy Commission Rofi Munawar has urged the government to be serious in maintaining the supply of fuel oil, prevent power outages, and ensure availability of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) before Eid Day.
He added that such efforts must also be balanced with real time monitoring.
"The government has expressed its readiness on numerous occasions in anticipation of the celebration of Lebaran (Eid Day) and homecoming. However, it should be anticipated with the readiness of early mitigation against the extremes of demand and distribution strategy," Rofi said in a statement on Saturday (2/7).
Rofi also asked the government to continue improving the quality of inter-agency coordination in anticipating Eid this year.
"Given the surge in the number of vehicles going home that will impact the increase in fuel consumption," Rofi added.
Additionally, Rofi urged the Oil Gas Downstream Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) and Pertamina to secure the distribution of fuel and LPGs.
