TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agriculture Minister, Amran Sulaiman, paid a visit to Jatinegara Market this morning to inspect beef price in traditional market. "We expect all sellers to have sold beef price at low price," said Amran.

Amran faced some complaints from the sellers, who claimed that they have suffered losses, because they have bought beef from the feedlot at a higher price, before selling it a lower price.

In response to that, Amran said that he plans to revoke the regulation banning imported beef from entering traditional market. He said that the regulation, which has been around for 3 years, will be revoked in a week time.

Amran added that he plans to run a meeting specifically to discuss about the matter. Nonetheless, Amran said that the revoke must also have limitation, so that the price does not drop much.
