E. Java Directorate General of Tax Detains Two Tax Evaders

TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - The office of Directorate General of Tax East Java Regional I has held two people for tax crime. Police accused the two offenders with the initial ET and WTD of causing Rp4.378 billion in state loss.


ET is the Director of PT NKS and WTD is the majority shareholder and President Director of PT NKS. Both have allegedly failed to pay value-added tax to the state and have been proven of using inappropriate tax receipts.


“We have held the offenders after summoning them twice, but the offenders failed to oblige,” said the Head of the office of East Java I Directorate of Tax, I Hestu Yoga Saksama in a press release yesterday.


The rampant detainments over tax issue this year relates to the program of Legal Enforcement Year for tax evaders.


Hestu hoped that harsh actions would prompt taxpayers to improve tax compliance. “After they pay their tax dues, we will release them in accordance with the applicable regulations.”
