TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Minister for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Susi Pudjiastuti, was spotted arriving at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday evening, May 10, 2016, through the building's side entrance at around 20.00, Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
When asked about her visit on Tuesday evening, KPK Chief Agus Rahardjo said that the Minister came to discuss many things. "One of which is the reclamation of Jakarta Bay," said Agus, who explained that KPK has been instructed to continue monitoring the government's progress in handling the controversial case - including advising the government on several issues.
"We have to make sure that the President is well informed about the case," said Agus. "But last night, it was mainly about the reclamation controversy. Other issues were discussed, but not as intensively."
As reported, the reclamation of Jakarta Bay continues to be marred by various issues, namely rejection from local communities and bribery members of the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD), which culminated in the issuance of a Ministerial Decree by the Minister for Forestry and the Environments to cease all activity relating to reclamation of the islands.
