TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communications and Information Minister Rudiantara said that he was mulling to form a joint task force with the Education and Culture Ministry in a bid to block dangerous online games.

“Online games should not contain gambling, pornography or other dangerous contents. Therefore, we have agreed with the Education and Culture Minister to form a team that will rate whether an online game is dangerous or not,” Rudiantara said in Surabaya on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

Rudiantara added that the Ministry would immediately block online game contents declared as `dangerous` by the team.

“But we’re also expecting parents to filter both positive and negative contents, because digital technology is also beneficial. For instance, we and the Education and Culture Ministry are mulling school tests using iPad,” Rudiantara explained.

During an inauguration of Ministry’s special staff Henri Subiakto, Rudiantara said that he appreciated Henri’s speech entitled related to digital communication technology impacts on social changes.

“As a special staff, Henri is expected to contribute top-notch ideas for public, particularly the dissemination of changes as a result of digital technology. Therefore, any negative impacts can be prevented,” Rudiantara added.
