78 Shopping Malls to Participate in Jakarta Great Sale 2016

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Shopping Centres Management Association (APPBI) and Jakarta provincial government will hold Jakarta Great Sale Festival (FGJS) 2016.
APPBI Chief Ellen Hidayat said that Jakarta’s biggest sale festival will be held simultaneously at 78 well-known shopping malls in Jakarta.
“The FGJS will be held from June 3-July 17, 2016, close to [Ramadhan] fasting month and Idul Fitri,” she said after FGJS 2016 Gala Dinner at the City Hall, Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
Ellen is optimistic that retail revenues from the sale festival will significantly increase by 8% from last year’s realized figure of Rp14.5 trillion.
“The target of this year’s sales is Rp15.7 trillion” she added.
Head of Jakarta Tourism Department Catur Laswanto said that the FGJS 2016 would improve tourism competitiveness, particularly Jakarta’s shopping tourism.
“We hope that Jakarta Great Sale would not only attract Jakartans, but also foreign tourists,” he went on.
