TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The water level status at the Katulampa water gate in Bogor, West Java, remains normal although the intensity of rain has increased over the last few days.

Andi Sudirman, acting officer of the Katulampa water gate, said that the rainy season was not like those in previous years.

“The intensity [of rain] increases, but it’s not like the previous years. So far, [the water level] is normal. The highest status is alert 3,” Andi said in Bogor on Sunday, January 24, 2016.

Andi added that people in Jakarta should not be concerned with flooding because the odd was relatively small.

“We used to be on high alert in January since the water debit from Puncak was quite high. But this year, the weather is friendlier,” he said.

However, Andi said that he would continue to coordinate with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to update weather information in Bogor and its surrounding areas.

“I hope it stays like this. But we will remain on alert to watch the water debit at this water gate,” Andi added.
