Bantul Sees 2.5 Million Tourists During 2015

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Department of Culture and Tourism in Bantul, Yogyakarta, recorded 2.58 million of tourists have visited various local attractions during 2015.
“In 2015, Bantul was visited by approximately 2.58 million tourists that contributed to the local revenue for around Rp11.15 billion” said the Head of Department of Culture and Tourism of Bantul, Bambang Legowo, in Bantul.
Parangtritis beach, which connects with Depok beach and is known for the seafood, is tourist favorite destination that saw around 2.05 million tourists.
“Followed by Baru Beach around 163,000 visitors, Samas Beach 140,850 visitors, Gua Beach 95,260 visitors dan Kuwaru Beach 67,585 visitors” said Bambang Legowo.
Other spots that had attracted many tourists including Cerme cave in Selopamiora Imogiri and Selarong cave in Pajangan.
“We have a successful tourism revenue. Until the end of December, from Rp10.5 billion target, we achieved Rp11.15 billion.”
Bambang said that the revenue from tourism retribution fee for 2016 is Rp11.05 billion or increase Rp500 million than the target of 2015.
"Previously we always targeted the tourism revenue more than Rp1 billion, but now only Rp500 million," he said.
