Prabu Suryodilogo Officially Inaugurated as Paku Alam X

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prabu Suryodilogo is officially inaugurated as Paku Alam X of Yogyakarta on Thursday, January 7. The inauguration was remarked with a procession of changing a kris dagger, a symbol of the throne.
“Honestly, I carry on a difficult task to maintain Mataram Heritage,” said Paku Alam X. He added that heritage and culture are not limited to intellectual practice of arts.
Suryodilogo was born in Yogyakarta on December 15, 1962.
The inauguration, however, was opposed by Anglingkusumo, Suryodilogo’s uncle. “One of the criteria for being named Paku Alam is an heir of legitimate marriage,” said Anglingkusumo’s spokesman, Wiroyudho.
Wiroyudho said that Paku Alam IX married his wife Koesumarsini on 1963, but Suryodilogo was born in 1962. “Wait and see, we will deliver the facts when the time is right,” said Wiroyudho.
