Visa on Arrival in Bali Reaches Rp925 Billion

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Visa on arrival (VoA) for 1,804,443 foreign travelers visiting Bali has reached US$66.3 million or around Rp925 billion during January-September 2015 period.
“The number of admission seems reducing as a result of visa-free application to a number of neighboring countries, so not all foreign travelers pay VoA,” tourism analyst Made Sudana said on Monday.
The number of foreign travelers visiting the region is actually increasing; only the one who pay VoA has reduced.
According to a record from Bank Indonesia Bali Province Representative, VoA admission from foreign tourist at the beginning of the year averages to $10 million per month, but had lately started decreasing to only $6.6 million (in June), and $4.7 million (in September 2015).
Admission from tourism sector is still quite high with $66.3 million for January-September 2015 period, although the government has implemented a visa-free program to several neighboring countries, as it will be able to increase the economy cycle.
