TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police precinct personnel in West Java`s Bogor city have nabbed three couriers who allegedly supplied 39 kilograms of marijuana that was ready to be distributed on the upcoming new years eve.

"The three suspects were nabbed on Monday (Nov 30, 2015) in East Bogor. The suspects were arrested after information was received from the citys residents," head of the Bogor police precinct, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Andi Herindra, stated on Tuesday.

According to Andi Herindra, the three suspects who were caught from a rented house in the Baranangsiang village, were identified by their initials as Isap (43), MAZ (23), and MA alias Mulya (28).

The three suspects were arrested while they were having a methamphetamine party. Police personnel found some evidence in the form of two small packs of methamphetamine (shabu) weighing 1.96 grams, a suction tube (bong), digital scales and a straw.

The investigation showed that the dried marijuana, which was ready for distribution, was taken from Aceh by courier and sent to Jakarta.

The marijuana was then brought from Jakarta by the courier to Bogor through Parung village and was handed over to the three suspects.

The police are investigating where the marijuana was to be marketed.

Herindra further said the marijuana was allegedly supplied to meet the demand for drugs on the occasion of the new year.

"The Bogor Police continue to carry out the efforts to preempt such crimes, and prevent the illegal circulation of drugs in the community," he added.
