TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Works and Housing Ministry is auctioning 1,057 packages from the Housing Provision Directorate project worth Rp6.4 trillion beginning this month until March 2016. Housing Provision Planning Director Dedy Permadi says the 128 packages worth Rp163.93 billion will end this November.

“It has partially been auctioned this month,” Dedy said in his office on Monday, November 30.

Meanwhile in December, 780 packages worth Rp5.14 trillion will be auctioned and 64 packages worth Rp21.52 billion will be auctioned in January. 60 packages worth Rp554.36 billion will be auctioned in February and 25 packages worth Rp154.6 billion in March.

Dedy expects 80 percent from 128 packages would be in contract by January 2016.

The auction done earlier by the government is to pursue budget absorption. Dedy would not want a similar budget absorption as last year, when the auction started in January, the contract signing was done March through May.

Dedy aims that the budget from Housing Provision Directorate is absorbed by three percent early next year. “So that it doesn’t pile up,’’ he said.
