Finance Ministry, Intelligence Agency Hunt Tax Payers

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta -Finance Ministry and the State Intelligence Agency have signed an MoU on tax security and early warning tax revenue. "We focus on tax and customs," said Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro.
Bambang said that the MoU will help increase effectiveness and secure tax revenue. "BIN will support in the area that requires their expertise," he said.
BIN Chief, Sutiyoso, said that his institute has the authority to check one's personal bank account. "BIN is in 34 provinces. We can coordinate with regional tax office," said Sutiyoso.
BIN will also cooperate with other institutes such as the Financial Transaction Report and Analysis Center (PPATK), the police, and attorney office.
