TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Secretary General of Indonesian Teacher’s Federation, Retno Listyarti, criticized Jakarta Education Office for prioritizing physical construction rather than teacher’s training.
During the past two years, teachers were only trained to deal with Curriculum 2013 and boost scores on the national examination.
"There should be a training on teacher’s quality based on his or her capacity," said Retno.
Retno suggests that the education agency should have more technical and pedagogic training, as well as creating a comfortable learning situation. "Teachers should be trained to exceed professionals. We can invite politicians and judge for civics leson; or lecturers for other lessons," said Retno.
