Toyota to Launch Fourth Generation Prius

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Japan's automotive manufacturer, Toyota Motor Corp, has claimed that the fourth generation of its' Prius vehicles will be more economical, with a calculated average range of 40 kilometres per litre achieved during testing in Japan. The range represents a 20 percent increase in fuel economy compared to existing models, which has an expected range of 32,6 kilometres per litre. It is known that Toyota pioneered the hybrid engine by introducing its' first generation of Toyota Priuses in 1997 - stating that hybrids are more economical, but ultimately said that fuel range will differ depending on the specification of each units, as well as driving data-styles. Since the launch of its' new models in July 2015, some three million units have been sold. The company announced that it will begin to market the latest generation of Priuses at the end of the year in Japan, as quoted by Reuters .
