TEMPO.CO, Palangkaraya - Cases of acute respiratory problems (ISPA) in South Kalimantan increase as haze continues to shroud the region. The number of ISPA cases increases from 6,033 in July to 6,764 in August.
Yaser Wawan, Head of of Disease and Disaster Agency at the Central Kalimantan Health Agency, said that the number would likely to increase in September 2015. "This is because the dry season is predicted to continue until November 2015," said Yaser on Friday, September 4, 2015.
Based on Central Kalimantan's Health Agency's data, Palangkaraya has the largest number of ISPA cases, followed by West Barito, East Kotawaringin, West Kotawaringin, Pisau Island, Kapuas, North Baruto, South Barito, Gunung Mas, Lamandau, Sukamara, Murung Raya and Katingan regencies.
"The air in Palangkaraya has become unhealthy and can badly affect a person's health. Therefore, we advise people to limit their outdoor activities," said Wawan.
