TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Trans Marga Central Java Technical and Operational Director Ari Iriyanto said Semarang-Solo toll road section III for segment Bawean-Salatiga will start operating in 2016, according to its development target.

“Bawean-Salatiga toll road is scheduled to be non-commercially operable or able to be accessed by vehicles during the 2016 Eid homecoming,” Ari said in Semarang on Wednesday, September 2.

Ari said that land acquisition process for Bawean-Salatiga toll construction, measuring a distance of 17.57km, have reached 75 percent completion.

“Hopefully, land acquisitions can be completed by December 2015, so construction can start immediately,” he said.

Ari admit that land acquisition for Bawean-Salatiga toll is currently facing several obstacles, such as the presence of 17 land points owned by the village that has not been freed.

“The land acquisition of the village requires permission from the regent, therefore, we asked the local parliament of Central Java‘s support to resolve this issue,” said Ari.

The development of Bawean-Salatiga toll is divided into several construction packages, including Bawean-Polosiri (3.49km), Polosiri-Sidorejo (6.8km), Sidorejo-Tengaran (4.3km), Sidorejo-Tengaran (0.8km), Sidorejo-Tengaran (1km) and Sidorejo-Tengaran 1.2km.

After the physical development of Bawean-Salatiga toll is completed, it will be continued with the development of section IV toll for segment Salatiga-Boyolali (24.13km) and section V for segment Boyolali-Kartosuro (72.64km).
