TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa said the Ministry had made anticipatory measures to cope with the impacts of the economic slowdown due to the prolonged drought and the weakening of Rupiah against the US Dollar.
"We have made anticipatory measures since June,” Khofifah said to the journalists in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Sunday, August 30.
The anticipatory measures, she said, are adjusted to the tasks and functions of the Social Affairs Ministry, namely to ensure that state logistics agency (Bulog) would distribute rice to the people.
"Before the fasting month and after Ied Day, I ensure that the people were calmed because they had already received rice,” she added.
