Produksi Terganggu, Pasokan CPO Naik Tipis

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Sawit Sumber Mas Sarana recorded a decline in CPO selling price by 7.8 percent in July, when compared to the CPO average price in the first semester of 2015.

The company in its press release said that the CPO average price in July reached Rp7.1 million (US$507) per ton, decreasing from that in the first semester of 2015 at Rp 8.3 million (US$593) per ton. The current price even plunged deeper by 14.4 percent when compared to the price last year.

Meanwhile, in the first seven month this year, the company managed to boost its production of fresh fruit bunch by 22 percent, from last year’s 465,110 tons to 568.520 this year.

“They increasing yield was supported by additional TBS from plantations acquired by the company,” the company said on August 30, 2015.

On the other hand, the acquisition had caused a decrease in yield from last year’s 22 tons per hectare to 11.8 tons per hectar this year. In addition, the average age of the plants is at 6.5 years.
