TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Public Work and Housing Ministry (Ministry) and the House of Representatives (DPR) have not had a formal discussion on new DPR facilities planned to be constructed in the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan. Secretary General of the Ministry Taufik Widjojono, said that both institutions should have a specific discussion on the issue.

"The Ministry is responsible for all state facilities," said Taufik on Friday, August 28, 2015. "[However] we are not in the position to give an official statement."

Moreover, President Joko Widodo is yet to provide authorization for the project. Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung claimed that the president has his own consideration on why he has not approved the project. On the other hand, DPR speaker Setya Novanto has requested the President to provide an authorization.

The project, which was first announced on March 2015, is estimated to cost Rp 124 billion. The DPR proposed to construct several new facilities including a museum, a library, a parliament visit center, a legislation assessment center, and a common room.
