TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)-1 Banyu Urip, Cepu, Bojonegoro, East Java, work area is back in operation on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

On Saturday, operations were stalled after Exxon Indonesia workers went on a rampage and damage a number of company facilities.

Vice President of Public and Government Affairs ExxobMobil Indonesia Erwin Maryoto said conditions in EPC-1 is calm. "Today production had started operating gradually," Erwin said when contacted by Tempo on Sunday.

Erwin explained, on Saturday, the situation in EPC-1 was safe after security forces were deployed to the scene. “Production was halted because we worry the situation would spread. Hopefully there is no problems anymore,” he said.

In a day, Cepu produce up to 80 thousand barrels. The unrest costed the company a loss of 50 thousand barrels. "However, we were still capable of producing 30 thousand barrels. Other facilities kept running,” said Erwin.

The incident involved the security workers and subcontractors around 11:30am on Saturday. Workers burned five cars, damage checkpoints posts and glass windows at the office buildings.

The police said they will mediate between the company, workers and the Government of Bojonegoro. The three parties will meet on Monday.
