Tatu Chasanah Denies Building Political Dynasty in Banten

TEMPO.CO, Serang - Ratu Tatu Chasanah and Pandji, candidates for Serang Regent and Deputy Regent, on Tuesday registered themselves at the Serang Regency Genral Elections Commission office to run for 2015 regional elections.

Regarding her candidacy, Tatu Chasanah denied the accusation that she will carry on the dynasty that was built by her sister, former Banten Governor Atut Chosiyah.

Tatu Chasanah and Pandji were escorted by hundreds of supporters from eight supporting parties, which are Golkar, PDI-P, PKS, PAN, PPP, PKB, NasDem and Democratic Party.

Chasanah said she had no intention to rebuild the political dynasty in Banten after Atut was found guilty of corruption.

Chasanah continued that supporting parties asked her to run for elections. She said she is optimistic that people still trust her to led Serang Regency.

Chasanah denied that she gathered many political parties for fear that she did not have political support. She also denied the allegation that she intervened the parties that nominated her in this year’s elections.
