Jakarta Gets New Double-Decker Bus

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government received a new double-decker tourism bus donation from PT Sumber Alfaria trijaya Tbk, which is the owner of Alfamart and Alfamidi retail store network.


The donation bus branded Mercedes Benz with 69 passenger capacity colored by blue and white is submitted directly by Alfamart Corporate Affairs Director, Solihin to Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in city Hall, Friday (6/26).


Ahok told, double-decker bus is quite interested by Jakarta citizen but the fleet is still limited.


"Thanks for this double-decker bus donation. I believe this bus will be very useful," told Ahok.


He also hoped the bus addition could become typical icon for Jakarta and accommodate the high public interest to use double-decker bus.


Alfamart Corporate Affairs Director, Solihin uttered, the bus assembled in Magelang, Central Java and takes about one year.


"The bus seat capacity and facility is designed based on standard of City Tour Bus that has been operating," he explained.


The bus which imported from Germany is valued at Rp3.6 billion. This Bus capacity is also larger than the existing double decker bus that only has 60 passengers capacity.
