TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Industrial Minister Saleh Husin urged domestic motorcycle producer to export motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 150cc to fulfill global standards. "And to expand the national automotive market," Saleh said on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Saleh asserted that one of the main obstacles that had hampered national automotive product export was the failure to comply with market demands in developing new products.
Presently, countries such as Japan and European countries had requested for motorcycles with a large engine capacity and high technology security system. However, domestic producers often turned their focus on producing motorcycles for domestic markets.
Nevertheless, Saleh said that in the next few years, domestic producer will be able to meet global standards. Saleh also challenged producers to increase export volume from 30,000 units to 100,000 units annually.
