Solo to Held 24-Hour Dance Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The city government of Surakarta and Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) of Solo commemorated is planning to hold a 24-hour Solo Dance festival on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, to commemorate World Dance Day.
The festival, titled "Tari Nafas dan Kehidupan" (The Dance of Life and Breath) will involve more than 3,000 dancers from 150 dance studios in Solo and its surrounding regions, according to the event’s executive committee Soemaryatmi.
Several dancers from Papua and Sulawesi, along with dancer from foreign countries, including Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Brunei Darussalam will participate in the event.
"The foreign dancers are scholarship students of the Indonesian art and culture program," Soemaryatmi said.
The 24-hour Solo Dance will be held in several places like theaters located at the ISI Solo, three malls in Solo, and on Jalan Jendral Sudirman in Solo.
