Central Kalimantan to Hold Dayak Borneo Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Kalimantan Province is set to hold Dayak Borneo Culture Festival starting from June 1 to 6. The festival offers traditional dances, carnival, product and culinary fair of dayak tribe indigenous to the island.
Chief of the festival organizer, Thoeseng TT Asang, guarantees the festivity of the event as there will be 500 traditional dancers performing Dayak ethnic colossal dances, alongside seminars on Dayak culture, business, agriculture and spatial planning.
“To bring more live into the festival, we also involve all provinces in Kalimantan and invite neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Brunei,” Thoeseng said on Friday in Palangka Raya.
“The festival is intentionally wrapped in traditional and modern combination. That is the reason why ministries of agriculture or spatial planning and successful entepreneurs are involved to deliver subject matter in the seminars.”
