TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will issue a sunset policy on April 29, 2015. The policy will remove taxpayer’s mandatory administrative penalties for unpaid taxes.
"The President will directly announce [the policy] at the palace," Director General of Taxes Priadi Pramudito said in his office on Thursday, April 23, 2015.
Previously, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said that 2015 will be a year of tax education where taxpayers who managed to revise their Annual Tax Return and pay their tax arrears will be exempted from tax penalties.
Bambang predicted that the policy will generate an additional tax revenue of up to Rp 200 trillion.
