TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of teachers believe that the answer keys for this year’s national examinations of high school students in Mojokerto, East Java, have been circulated among students. The local education council received the report from parents of a student on Friday, April 10, 2015.

According to a teacher, two syndicates have been supplying students with the answer keys for the national examinations.

“[They circulated the answer keys] through networks in Lamongan and Surabaya,” the teacher told Tempo on Sunday, April 12, 2015.

The teacher also believes that the key answers offered by one of the syndicates are valid since the teacher has been involved in the transaction over the last two years.

“A fellow teacher knows the network in Lamongan. So we bought [the answer keys] from the network,” the teacher said.

According to the source, the key answers were leaked from the central printing or by provincial government staff.

Another teacher confirmed that the Lamongan network sold the answer keys. According to the teacher, although the national examinations have no longer determined a student’s graduation, they are still concerned that the national examinations would affect the school’s reputation and a student’s chance to go to a certain university.

Sumarsono, the head of secondary education at the Mojokerto Education Agency called on students not to be affected with the circulation of the key answers.
