TEMPO.CO , Lumajang - Lumajang court sentenced Ngatmanu, 73, with 14 days of imprisonment for stealing 2.5 kilograms of soybean. The verdict came exactly as what the prosecutor had proposed.
Judge Frisella Simanjuntak said that Ngatmanu was proven guilty for stealing the soybean. "The court will return the evidence to the victim," Frisella said.
As the defendant had spent 14 days of imprisonment, he was immediately released after the court session ends. Ngatmanu had served his sentence for 14 days since he was detained on March 9 through March 23, 2015.
"I am grateful," Ngatmanu said. "It deterred me. I will not steal again."
