TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Luctor Tapiheru, Head of Bank Indonesia's North Sulawesi Representative Office, said that non-cash transactions could minimize the circulation of counterfeit money.
"By using non-cash payment method, it can be assured that there will be no counterfeit money because only the system that does the work," Luctor said in Manado on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Luctor hoped that all elements of the public and the government would support the non-cash program. In addition to reducing circulations of counterfeit money, non-cash transaction is also considered to be safer and more efficient.
Luctor added that the non-cash payment system will encourage better, safer and more stable financial system in Indonesia. Luctor further stated that the ultimate goal of the system is to establish an efficient, transparent, accountable and fraud-free economy.
