TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Harry Tirto Djatmiko, the head of information sub-division of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, said the Greater Jakarta regions—Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi—were entering the transition period from the rainy season to the dry season, which resulted in frequent rains in these areas.

“This is the end of the rainy season, or the transition period,” Harry told Tempo on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

Harry added March was part of the end of the rainy season, and that among the characteristics of the transition period were rains in daylight and at nighttime. He explained that the rains were not incessant during the period and would only occur at certain parts in Greater Jakarta.

During the transition, he went on, the climate would be sunny in the morning, followed by clouds and showers in the afternoon—either light showers or downpours. “The rains usually occur less than three hours during this period,” he said.

Harry said the transition period in Greater Jakarta would last until May. “The beginning of the dry season for Greater Jakarta is between April-May.”
