TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Members of the House of Representatives will now receive similar treatment to that of a Diplomat when travelling abroad. DPR members will now have the black passport, which previously only available for Diplomats and high ranking officials.
"The diplomatic passport is not only for the DPR Speaker, but also for members of the DPR," said Setya Novanto, the DPR Speaker. "[However] this passport cannot be used for tourism purpose, only for diplomatic task."
Moreover, members of the DPR will be carrying a special DPR ID card, which will allow them to receive services from airport protocol officers. "Wave [the DPR] card. They will direct you to domestic or international gates," said Setya. "It can also be used to check in at Garuda Lounge, even if [a DPR member] only has an economy class ticket."
