TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Radio in the internet age has started to transform in shape. Smartphones and tablets are able to reach radio frequency. Using personal computer, radio can be reached through internet radio. The old school radio boxes that once losing its heyday, have started to rise again in their vintage look but equipped with modern technology. Here are five vintage radio that has a touch of modern technology:


1. SuperConnect


The SuperConnect deserves to be on the must-have list for retro lovers for its design. Designed at Scottish studio Revo, SuperConnect is constructed of American Walnut wood and high quality aluminum. This radio can access more than 16,000 internet radio station. The price tag is US$400.


2. Livio Radio


Livio company has made a Wi-Fi vintage radio dedicated to play streaming music through Pandora.com. Livio radio can access more than 20,000 radio station and is connectable to iPod. It is sold for US$150.


3. Tivoli Radio


Tivoli has recently launched an attractive internet radio. Its designer Tom DeVesto wants the radio to look like ‘a wooden box that play music.’ The result is a sleek WiFi radio with wooden frame. It can play internet radio as well as music from USB port. Price tag: US$600.


4. Rebel FM Radio


INTEMPO offers radio that can play FM radio, internet radio, iPod, or other music from the memory card slot. It is offered as US$135.


5. Cawang CR 1 Delli Treasure Radio


This radio is designed by Indonesian designer. The frame is made of wood to give vintage look. Various motif of Indonesian ethnic pattern decorate the radio that can play FM and AM radio. Price tag: Rp1 to 2 million.
