TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that around 2,000 companies have not provided their obligatory investment reports (LKPM) since 2007. The government had given them an ultimatum to submit the reports immediately, or else have their principle licenses revoked, BKPM deputy Azhar Lubis said last weekend.

In January, BKPM found there were 15,528 companies that have not submitted their LKPM. The board sent letters of notification to them, but more than 2,000 letters were returned.

"It is possible that their office addresses have changed or they are actually fictitious companies," Azhar said.

According to BKPM's record, from 2007 to 2012 there is US$85.98 billion worth of foreign investment plans that have not been reported. As for domestic investment, unreported investment plans amounted to Rp316.29 trillion.
