TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Information Sub-Division of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Harry Tirto warned Jakarta residents to stay alert for the increasing intensity of the rains in recent days.
"One of the things that we have to stay alert for is when the rain happens during the night,” Harry said on Sunday.
Harry also said that floods might happen during the night when most of the residents are asleep.
Another thing that the residents have to be careful about is, Harry added, when the rain happens more than three hours because it can cause deluges or floods.
Harry further said that with quite high intensity of the rain expected in Jakarta in the next three days, several parts of the city are likely to be hit by floods, especially those that have low absorption such as Kampung Pulo in East Jakarta.
