TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Within 100 days of his term as Transportation Minister, Ignasius Jonan has transferred 1,400 state officials. "I have signed transfer order every week," said Jonan in a meeting with Commission V in the House of Representatives.
Jonan said that the transfer was directed towards officials of echelon 2, 3, and 4. He explained that the transfer is a form of 'refresher' for their working environment.
"We have officials who have been working for more than six years. It is not good for the future," said Jonan.
Moreover, Jonan said that the transfer was meant to create a more transparent system. "We make it fair and transparent " he said.
